Bouquet Care FAQs

Q: How do I take care of my bouquet when I get home?
First things first—unwrap your blooms and give them a fresh start! Trim about ½ inch off the stems at an angle, remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline, and place your flowers in a clean vase filled with cool water. That first drink is everything.

Q: How often should I change the water?
Every 1–2 days is best. Just like us, flowers prefer a clean, fresh environment. Changing the water helps prevent bacteria buildup and keeps your bouquet looking beautiful longer.

Q: Should I trim the stems again later?
Yes! Re-cutting the stems every few days can help your flowers keep sipping. A fresh trim = a longer life. Trust us.

Q: Can I keep my bouquet anywhere in my home?
Not quite. Flowers love a little shade—keep them out of direct sunlight, away from heating or cooling vents, and far from ripening fruit (yes, really—fruit gives off a gas that can shorten their lifespan).

Q: How long will my bouquet last?
Most of our locally grown blooms will thrive for 4–7 days with proper care. Some more delicate varieties may fade a little sooner, while others hang around longer. Every bouquet has its own rhythm.

Q: Do I need flower food?
Not necessarily! Clean water, fresh stems, and a clean vase are usually enough. But if you have flower food on hand, go ahead and use it—your blooms won’t complain.

Q: What makes Che’lu bouquets different?
We source our flowers from North Carolina growers who care deeply about quality, seasonality, and sustainability. Each bouquet is made with intention—and a whole lot of heart.
